THE BEGGINING OF IT ALL
The youth has always been a force that has driven bad as well as bad things in our society, but it could be said that the moment when it all changed and young people started to have an even bigger impact in the world was the 60’s decade.
In June of 1667, took place the first great outdoors festival of pop music which was attended by 200.000 people. The powerful mix of pop music and teen culture set one of the highlights of the 60’s, however all this was eclipsed by Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King’s murders. In many cities all over the world, student manifestations occurredagainst military intervention in Vietnam.
The end of the decade was marked by two big rock festivals, both took place in 1969: The Woodstock’s one in New York and the free concert in Altamont, California. The attenders united by a sense of love and fraternization, though a black man was stabbed during an altercation.
